The Children’s School seeks innovative, collaborative, and creative teaching partners for its nationally recognized middle grades program to start August 2018. Successful applicants have a passion for their own areas of expertise in language arts, math, social studies or science, while sharing a passion for the interconnectedness of all disciplines and a desire to practice their craft in a fully integrated project-based model that is immersed in real-world community-based issues.
Middle Grades Lead Teachers are responsible for development and implementation of curriculum, student learning and success, and the documentation and reporting of student learning, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of The Children’s School (TCS).

TCS is a progressive elementary school serving students from age three through eighth grade in a diverse community in midtown Atlanta. Grounded in principles of excellence, inclusion, innovation, and play, our graduates are passion-driven young adults who lead lives of purpose in an interconnected world.
Note: Within the broader project-based structure, math and writing classes meet daily and each follow a nationally recognized scope and sequence. In addition to these skill-based classes, the teachers of math and writing plan with the team to integrate and apply those discipline across the broader project-based units.

Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Middle Grades or Elementary Education. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Lead Teacher with children in a classroom setting, preferably at a similar age level. Proficiency in core subjects required. Demonstrated experience of integrating technology into the classroom.
