Carolina Friends School is seeking a full-time Upper School teacher and advisor to join our staff for the fall of 2018. The teacher will join an Upper School team committed to continually developing a rigorous, student-centered, and mission-driven curriculum. The position centers on the teaching of chemistry, but opportunities may exist to teach science electives in other areas, as determined by the school’s needs and the teacher’s areas of expertise and interest. The successful candidate will be comfortable with, and excited about, teaching chemistry at both the high school introductory level, as well as at a level for advanced students taking a second year of chemistry in high school. Carolina Friends School offers teachers an opportunity to engage with students on a variety of levels in and out of the classroom and utilizes a narrative-based approach to student evaluation instead of letter or number grades.
