The Lamplighter School in Dallas, Texas is an independent, co-educational day school for students in Pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade established in 1953. Lamplighter’s motto has always been, "A student is not a vessel to be filled, but a lamp to be lighted." This idea still rings true today as demonstrated by its mission to ignite the potential in each child; Lamplighter engages young children in the joy of learning through intellectual discovery in a creative, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
The Lamplighter School seeks a Director of Advancement who, in close partnership with the Head of School and Board of Trustees, will lead and design programs of giving that attract the maximum support possible to the institution. The Director is responsible for formulating and implementing strategic fundraising activities: prospect identification and cultivation, major donor solicitation, annual fund and capital campaign oversight, coordination with the Parents’ Association volunteers in their fundraising activities, alumni relations and planned giving.
This is a distinct opportunity for a dynamic Advancement professional, with communications skills, who will build upon the strong foundation of the advancement program, continue to nurture numerous, established parent relationships, and broaden the culture of philanthropy instilled in the School’s community. The successful candidate will step into a School that is financially sound, with a broad base of volunteers and a well-regarded reputation, and an environment that “doesn’t ask for more than is needed.”
Interested individuals should send a resume and cover letter to email@example.com.
Candidates will possess the following education and experience:
7+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector and in fundraising
