The English Language & American Culture Institute at Perkiomen School is seeking qualified ESL Teachers for a four-week summer program. The individual will provide instruction to international students at the middle and high school levels with varying degrees of English proficiency and diverse cultural backgrounds.

Provide instruction over a four week period to English Language Learners.
Assist in the testing and placement of students in classes based on their proficiency levels.
Contribute to the students’ development of life skills needed for success at a boarding school.
Strive to get to know each student individually and meet their individual learning needs.
Participate in regularly planned afternoon off-campus activities and one all-day field trip.
Attend and provide input at all staff meetings.
We are offering a competitive salary of $4,000 for the four-week program, room and board, and rewarding summertime memories working with international students.
A Bachelor’s degree in the field of education with a minimum of one year, full-time ESL or foreign language teaching experience with middle and/or high school students OR a bachelor’s degree along with a certificate in teaching ESL that includes a practice teaching component with middle and/or high school students
Native fluency in English
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to demonstrate diplomacy, flexibility, and patience
Experience living and/or teaching abroad and knowledge of a foreign language is preferred
Be present for meetings, classes, lunch, and activities from 8:30am – 3:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and from 8:30am – 5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Maintain proper levels of discipline, welfare, and safety of all students.
Encourage students to use English only when attending classes and participating in group activities.
Deliver thoughtfully planned, engaging lessons to students on a daily basis.
Participate in daily 15-minute morning and afternoon meetings with students and staff members.
Start and finish classes on time and guide students to their next location as needed.
Submit final weekly lesson plans to ESL Summer Program Director and Curriculum Director in a timely manner.
Consult with Curriculum Director for any questions regarding lesson plans.
Consult with ESL Summer Program Director and Residential Life Director regarding any student concerns.
Submit daily attendance report, weekly progress report, and end of program report in a timely manner.
Welcome classroom visits from the ESL Summer Program Director and Curriculum Director.
Participate on one all-day field trip.
