Fountain Valley School is seeking a qualified teacher to fill a full-time position in the fine arts program in digital photography and filmmaking. The ideal candidate will have the vision to further develop and implement a college preparatory level digital photography and film program. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Fine Arts Department. S/he is responsible for Art classes for students in 9-12 grade.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of the Fine Arts Department
Teach 4 sections of digital photography and filmmaking during the academic day
In collaboration with the department chair and other faculty maintain an up-to-date scope
and sequence document for the Fine Arts department
Coach two seasons
Advise 4-6 students
Participate in a class retreat
Participate in committees as assigned
Participate in an Interim
Serve as a member of a weekend and weeknight duty team
Environment: indoors and outdoors working with high school students Physical Demands: able to do a combination of sit, stand and lift up to 40 lbs for at least 8 hours per day; occasional after hours, weekend and/ or weeknight obligations Working Relationships: students, parents, outside vendors and all other employees

A Bachelor’s or higher degree with a major in art is preferred. A specialization in digital photography and filmmaking. Dark room photography available. Experience of at least 2 years in the classroom is preferred but not required. Experience and versatility working with the Adobe applications such as Adobe Suite (including Photoshop and Lightroom), and Apple applications including Final Cut Pro. Ability to utilize digital media that integrates technology with aesthetics and to manage a networked computer lab. Proficient in Blackbaud OnCampus, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Educational Suite Apps.
