The Buckley School has an opening for a full-time Middle School Math Teacher to teach Math 6, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry and possibly higher-level courses beginning in the fall of 2018. This teacher will be responsible for all aspects of teaching our curriculum and will also be responsible for developing and maintaining curriculum maps of the courses he or she teaches. This individual will also be responsible for an advisory of 6-8 students and will be expected to be present at certain school events.
Bachelor’s degree (Masters’ or PhD preferred)
At least two years of successful teaching experience
Demonstrated mastery of the subject
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers
A commitment to a mastery philosophy of learning (as opposed to simply measuring students through grades)
Demonstrated commitment to equity theory within the classroom
Demonstrated competency in diversity, multiculturalism, inclusion, equity and social justice
Demonstrated passion for working with middle school students
Demonstrated commitment to working with children outside of the classroom (advisory programs, clubs, etc.)
Demonstrated skill in using technology to design learning
Exceptional interpersonal skills
