Fort Worth Country Day is seeking a Junior Kindergarten Assistant to work very closely with the classroom teacher developing the instructional program and teaching strategies. The ideal candidate should have a college degree and at least one year of experience in an early childhood classroom. Additionally, an understanding of developmental readiness and balanced literacy is preferred. The candidate should have a strong commitment to support FWCD’s dynamic Lower School team and possess outstanding communication and organizational skills.
Reporting to the Head of the Lower School, the successful candidate will have:
Early childhood classroom experience and knowledge base
Knowledge about and experience with the developmental, social, emotional and cognitive issues of children in the early childhood years
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work successfully with colleagues on a team
Flexibility, tact, and leadership in communicating with parents
