The Lower School Music Teacher teaches Kindergarten through 4th grade music classes. We are looking for a candidate who exhibits enthusiasm, energy, initiative and the capacity for reflection and lifelong learning. Working as a team member and enjoying teaching lower school students are essential. This teacher will be supported by a Fine Arts Director, the Lower School Division Head, and the Associate Head of School for Academics. Opportunities for athletic coaching are also possible.
A successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of how to teach music, to organize and manage a classroom, and to motivate and engage students. This teacher must be able to communicate effectively with parents, other teachers, and administrators, both in person and in writing. He/she needs to be organized and have the ability to keep on top of an array of fast moving, complex activities and interactions.

Preferred applicants will have:
Bachelor's degree in Music Education.
Either Kodaly or Orff certification.
Ability to produce and direct grade level musicals and performances, a necessity.
Knowledge of and be comfortable with technology.
