For nearly 30 years Boulder Country Day School has been at the forefront of education in the Boulder Valley. Boulder Country Day’s mission and strategic plan guides our efforts to engage, enhance, and embody a diverse, well informed community. For the past four years, a faculty committee has led our diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI) program, and BCD is now ready to take the next step and hire a coordinator to continue our work. The Coordinator will:
Provide strategic leadership in the areas of equity and inclusivity, including the development of an equity and inclusivity strategic plan
Lead the development and implementation of a cultural proficiency framework the BCD community
Create and coach teachers and in the implementation of inclusive, multicultural, global-minded curricula and teaching practices
Serve as a coaching resource for faculty, professional staff, and the BCD community in the areas of equity, inclusion, and cultural proficiency
Provide individualized student and family support in the areas of equity and inclusion; serve as an advocate for all students, faculty, staff, and families
Lead and support equity and inclusion student and parent groups such as the GSA and Parent Affinity Group Program
In collaboration with the administration team, participate in an inclusive hiring process and assist in increasing effectiveness in cultivating, recruiting, mentoring and retaining diverse faculty, professional staff, and administrators
Measure, analyze, benchmark and report the school’s progress on matters of diversity, equity and inclusion using quantitative and qualitative data
Act as a liaison between the School and the various underrepresented and diverse communities in the locale in support of the School's continued effort to serve these communities better and to support the School's outreach and admissions marketing and recruitment programs
Help develop communication strategy to keep the school community informed and educated about evolving equity and inclusivity issues, curriculum, policies, etc.
Qualifications: Exceptional candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); personal and professional development through conferences and workshops devoted to diversity, equity and inclusion; a global mindset with wide-ranging knowledge of world cultures; the ability to coordinate school-wide programming across all divisions; a willingness to plan, participate in, and support school events and activities; leadership experience including presentations, workshops and committee work on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion; and a minimum 3 years classroom teaching experience (preferred). The position includes annual travel to the NAIS People of Color Conference in addition to local diversity meetings, workshops, and trainings.
