Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of a Middle and Upper School Visual Arts Teacher with specialization in two or more of the following areas: architecture and design, mixed media contemporary practices, drawing and painting. The position requires excellent skills and content knowledge; a passion for teaching and learning; enthusiasm for working with students, families and colleagues; flexibility and a sense of humor. Qualified applicants will have strong written and oral communication skills, a willingness to use technology, a commitment to professional development and proven success and desire to work in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will hold an MFA or other advanced degree in a relevant area.

Teaching Duties include:
Teaching five art courses in Middle and Upper School Visual Arts
Meeting with students on an individual basis for extra help as needed
Amending and developing curricula as necessary
Keeping accurate grades, effectively communicating with students and families in a timely manner, and providing feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Generate happiness and a positive outlook on life and learning;
Assume role as an advisor for a group of students (7-10)
Advise a club or activity
Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to: department, committee, division and grade-level meetings;
Participate in school events such as attendance at homecoming, alumni events and other significant dates throughout the school year; and
Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
