The Johns Hopkins University for Center Talented Youth (CTY) is currently seeking office managers for its summer residential and day programs in the United States.

CTY provides highly qualified students with an intense immersion in a particular subject. The Office Manager’s Role
The office manager's primary responsibility is to assist the site director in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the site's main office, including bookkeeping.The position is customer service oriented. Office managers are often the first point of contact for "customers" including staff, students, parents, and the host institution. Additionally, the office manager is the central figure in providing the friendly, organized, and professional office environment that is necessary for everyone else to do their jobs successfully. The office manager's work schedule is arranged with the site director and varies depending upon the demands of each day.
At residential sites, office managers work approximately 45 hours per week once a session is underway, but considerably more hours are required during the start-up, intersession, and closing weeks. At day sites, an office manager's typical work week is Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:30 p.m. with more hours as required during the start-up, intersession, and closing weeks. In addition, at day sites the office manager may need to arrive earlier or depart later to assist with Before- and After-Care for students.
Experience in a fast-paced work environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Advanced knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Adaptability in changing environments
Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
At residential sites only, for insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and good driving record
Dates of Employment
Two-session residential programs: June 17 - August 5, 2018
Two-session residential programs at UC Santa Cruz and the University of Washington: June 24 to August 12, 2018
Two-session day programs: June 25 - August 11, 2018
First-session only residential programs: June 17 - July 15, 2018
First-session only day programs: June 25 - July 21, 2018
Second-session only day site programs: July 16 - August 11, 2018
Terms of Employment
At residential sites, the first-year salary is $4,800 for a seven-week period, and at day sites, the first-year salary $4,400 for a seven-week period.
Room and board are provided at residential sites; employees pay their own travel to and from program locations.
Attendance the first weekend in June at an orientation in Baltimore, Friday to Sunday, June 1 to June 3 (no additional compensation, but CTY pays travel expenses and provides room and board)
Telephone and email consultations throughout the year, as needed
