Full Time Position working with students in 7th-8th grades in a Montessori Adolescent Program. Montessori training is not required, but school sponsored training in the future may be an option. Applicant should have depth of knowledge related to US and World History as well as teaching writing. Candidate must enjoy collaborative work as this program is an educationally integrated experience with all subjects being inter-disciplinary. School serves children 18 mos - 8th grade.
Countryside Montessori School is a non-profit, independent school that just celebrated is 50th year, ISACS accredited for 15+ years. The school is located in a pleasant Chicago suburb, Northbrook, on 4 acres. Enrollment is 180 students. CMS is an amazing place to work. Staff are dedicated, joyful, and professional. Candidate should have a vibrant and outgoing personality and be comfortable working with other strong personalities. Position involves working collaboratively with the director of the program to create an educational experience for students that emphasizes the development character in tandem with academic rigor. CMS considers its responsibility to students to offer a rigorous academic education while focusing on the development of agency, empathy, and accountability. We consider school an internship to adulthood. Our goal is helping young people get beyond being great students by providing an experience that will enable them to build the character that will make them exceptional adults.
