The Assistant Director for Annual Alumni Giving is charged with the attainment of Annual Fund financial and constituency participation goals as established by the Academy’s administrative management team and Board of Trustees.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Annual Giving & Parent Relations
With Director of Annual Giving, plan and execute a comprehensive program of annual giving, including mail, phone, personal solicitations and special events
Increase the number of alumni donors participating in the Annual Giving program though the creation and implementation of events, communications, and affinity groups.
Provide reporting for all annual giving efforts (segmented by alumni, parents, others).
Work collaboratively with Advancement team in managing the donor database (Raiser’s Edge) and executing stewardship strategies for all Annual Fund gifts
Assist Director of Annual Giving in planning and managing annual recognition event for Annual Fund major donors
Recruit and retain alumni Class Ambassadors for the purpose of peer-to-peer communications and solicitation of gifts
Work in conjunction with the entire Newark Academy Advancement team to communicate and coordinate activities/events with the NA Alumni Association Board of Governors and the Newark Academy Parents Association
Provide administrative support to Director of Annual Giving as needed
1-3 years of experience, preferably in Annual Giving setting for an independent school, college, university or health care system. Relevant experience in related fields will be considered.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in use of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software is preferred. Experienced in using other types of CRM data systems will be considered.
Demonstrably strong writing, planning and organizational skills
Flexibility and initiative, as well as the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve institutional and individual goals
Goal-oriented and outcomes focused
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
Extensive experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience.
