Fort Worth Country Day seeks an enthusiastic professional who has significant knowledge regarding learning differences, a background providing learning support and experience in middle school education. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree. Experience in independent school education is preferred.
Reporting to the Head of Middle School, the successful candidate will be energized by working with middle school aged students, will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will model and promote the FWCD Core Values: integrity, kindness, courage, respect, responsibility and scholarship. The candidate will be a team player who emphasizes mutual respect, positive reinforcement, and will participate fully in the life of the School.
Provide support for students with learning differences as necessary
Update and communicate accommodations offered in Middle School for students with diagnosed learning differences
Conduct summer meeting for students and parents of students with diagnosed learning differences
Communicate with parents regarding updated diagnostic testing
Collaborate with Lower School and Upper School colleagues on students with diagnosed learning differences
Maintain documentation regarding students with diagnosed learning differences
Assist Middle School administration with student course placement and advisor selection for students with learning differences
Meet with each team at Middle School level to discuss students with learning differences and participate in Middle School team meetings to discuss students with learning differences
Manage process for any recommendations of diagnostic testing made to students and their parents
Research latest best practices and stay abreast of current issues regarding education of students with diagnosed learning differences and maintain resources for recommending diagnostic testing resources and community support services
Maintain presence in Fort Worth/Dallas learning services community
Oversee extended time accommodations for ERB exams and final exams
Other duties as assigned by the Head of Middle School
