Oakwood Secondary School seeks applicants for a full-time high school Social Studies teaching position. Teaching assignments will include multiple sections of 9th grade Ancient & Medieval History and 10th grade Modern History (world history before 1800). The teacher will collaborate with other members of the department on implementing curriculum and assessments. Other responsibilities include attending department and faculty meetings, or other meetings as needed for student support.
Bachelor’s degree in History or a Social Science discipline required; Master’s degree or doctorate preferred
Prior High School teaching experience, preferably of 9th or 10th graders
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in both subject matter and methodology
