Saddle River Day School is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic choral and musical theater teacher for our Upper and Middle School choirs and musical theater productions. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree (masters preferred) in voice or musical theater and have experience with choral conducting and working as the music director of a theater production. Excellent piano skills are required.
The choral duties of the position include directing the Upper School Concert Choir, US Chamber Choir, 7th-8th Grade Choir, and 5th-6th Grade Choir. Each choir meets twice a week. The theater duties include producing and music directing the Upper School Musical (winter), the Middle School musical (spring), and producing a straight-play in the fall.
Full-time teachers are advisors to 8-10 students and have a regular variety of school duties (such as lunch, recess, study hall coverage) and are welcome to mentor a club or coach a sport.
