The Co-Director of Student Life engages all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and initiatives related to the day to day operation of the school, with a focus on student behavior, academic support, and leadership. The Co-Director of Student Life is an advocate for students, fosters a positive and supportive educational environment built on trust and safety of the whole child with a focus on mission and core values.
The Co-Director of Student Life provides strategic leadership and vision in helping create an accepting, empathetic environment. This position will work with the Co-Director of Student Life, Director of Student Activities, the Campus Ministry team, and Athletic Director to support students and create growth opportunities for students in a variety of areas. The Co-Director will also partner with the Vice Principal of Academics and Ed Tech, the Director of Academic Learning and Support, and the Personal Counselors to ensure that all students feel safe, supported, and successful in their academic journey at Carondelet.
Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the mission, vision and core values of Carondelet High School and lives these values in interactions with students, parent/guardians, and colleagues.

Works closely with Carondelet High School’s students, parent guardians, faculty and staff and, at times, outside professionals and neighbors of Carondelet High School, in resolving issues and concerns.

Works as an advocate, facilitator, and disciplinarian for students while overseeing the basic quality of life of all Carondelet students

Administrative Responsibilities-Student Life
Establishes, enforces, and reviews guidelines for student behavior, including dress code and attendance. This includes record keeping via PowerSchool and proactively communicating with faculty/staff, parents, etc. related to ongoing behavioral and attendance issues.
Supervises all areas of campus with an emphasis on creating a positive environment during breaks, passing periods, lunch, X blocks and at all-school gatherings.
Assists in directing traffic during the school day and during special events.
Creates and monitors supervision assignments and chaperones for faculty/staff, often working in conjunction with the Director of Student Activities for student events.
Works with personal counselors and Director of Ed Support in identifying students with emotional, personal and academic issues and assists with academically-related concerns for students at all grade levels.
Participates in student success, student support and student intervention meetings as needed.
Works with Athletic Director, Activities Director, Director of Campus Ministry to coordinate school leadership program, which includes training and program from all aspects of student life.
Works with Director of Activities on all aspects of student orientations.
Coordinates and monitors all on campus parking for faculty/staff, students and guests.
Assigns and monitors locker assignments for students.
Assists Director of Facilities in supervision of school security and assignments related to school security.
Coordinates safety protocols for the school, including emergency response and preparedness training and review.
Creates professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff and provides updates on behavior and attendance at faculty meetings and professional development days.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal, or Vice Principal of Student Affairs
Serves as the initial point of contact for students under stress. The Co-Director of Student Life interacts directly with students and supports them in moments of need, potentially helping find solutions to anxiety and interfacing with teachers and establishing a relationship of trust.
Helps triage and ensure that students are directed to the correct person when an issue brought forward requires more expansive intervention.
Works with personal counselors and the Director of Academic Support and Learning in identifying students with emotional, personal, and academic issues and assists with academically-related concerns for students at all grade levels.
Participates in student success, student support, and student intervention meetings.
Creates and monitors programs related to academic help in conjunction with the Director of Academic Support related to study skills, study halls, extended testing and test makeup, and tutoring. Assists in coordinating peer tutoring program in conjunction with Director of Ed Support.

Prefer 3-5 years as a Director of Student Life
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with advanced degree preferred
Successful completion of a background and drug screen
Experience in managing people in complex interpersonal environments
Proficient in balancing multiple duties and responsibilities; Acute organizational skills and attention to detail; Adept at communicating with students, teachers, and parents on a wide variety of topics
Creativity in problem solving and in programming
Outstanding leadership and communication skills; able to properly handle a full range of interpersonal interactions with a diverse population of students and staff.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, data base use.
