Bullis School, a co-educational, K-12, nondenominational day school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks energetic and dedicated candidates to teach Upper School computer science and technology courses. The position begins in August 2018. This position involves teaching up to five classes per trimester. A full-time position also includes other roles within the community, including student advising and additional duties as assigned by the division principal. Successful teachers at Bullis are energized by curriculum development and are grounded in current learning theory. They thoughtfully use technology to blend learning and engage students in active, experiential, and hands-on learning. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success teaching AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, and other introductory computer science and/or robotics courses. Courses currently offered at Bullis include Creative Coding, Mobile App. Development, Sound Design & Programming, and Game Design. Successful candidates will have experience developing curriculum. Candidates must value a collaborative team environment and be open to developing new face-to-face or blended courses to support a growing STEM program. Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, with a graduate degree in a technology related field, or education preferred; teaching certificates are not required.
