Lower School Music Faculty Seattle, WA
Full Time - salary scale based on experience
The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Lower School team to teach Music. We are looking for a candidate who can support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that displays and proves an understanding of cultural fluency. A qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks as listed below:
Teach music skills and foster a love of music by creating an active-participatory environment
Plan and teach twice-weekly classes for each grade; K-5
Incorporate diverse perspectives and voices effectively into the curriculum
Develop confidence and self-esteem in students
Create and foster cross-grade/divisional interactions
Collaborate in cross curricular work in teams
Play piano, as well as, other instruments
Coordinate music in Lower School events, assemblies and performances
Have vocal proficiency
Guide an extracurricular chorus program
Experience in teaching – 3-5 years minimum preferred
A bachelor’s degree
A graduate degree preferred
Teacher certification preferred
Personal Qualifications of the successful candidates will have:
Technology skills: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite
The ability to work in a team
Effective classroom management skills
An understanding of development for K-5 students
