The Elisabeth Morrow School, an independent threes through eighth grade school in Englewood, NJ, is accepting applications for a Middle School English Chair and Middle School English/Writing Teacher. The Chair will lead curricular innovation and alignment and instructional excellence throughout our fifth through eighth grade English department. The English Chair will be tasked with consistent evaluation of the curriculum to promote best practices and engagement. The appointed candidate will teach sixth grade English, lead the middle school’s robust creative writing and journalism program, and oversee the School’s entries to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards as well as the School’s annual literary magazine. Desired candidates will hold a Master’s degree in a related discipline, significant teaching experience, and/or equivalent experience in a related field. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a strong and collaborative leadership style, a track record of curricular innovation, experience and appreciation for uniqueness middle school students, and deep knowledge and experience with middle school English curriculum.
