This position is a .5, school-year, exempt position, with the busiest months being October - March. Position reports to the Associate Head of School/Director of Admissions & Financial Aid. Candidates can combine this position with an athletics coaching or other stipend position at the school. Please consult website for other available positions.
The Associate will be a key, first point of contact for both middle and upper school applicants and families as a middle school tour guide and interviewer at both campuses. Assessing and evaluating candidates for admission will be a significant part of the role, as will contributing to the effective operation of the admissions applications and enrollment systems.
Serve as one of three tour guides for the middle school from September thru January, leading small group tours on up to 20 separate tour dates.
Serve as a primary middle school interviewer for all middle school interview dates.
Interview upper school applicants, schedule permitting, and follow through with appropriate communications with interviewees and their families.
Serve as a committee member on the 5th or 6th grade admissions committee, reading approximately 100 files and reviewing approximately 300 in committee; serving on the upper school committee, reading approximately 100 files and reviewing approximately 400 in committee.
Manage the international student application process by communicating residency requirements, conducting skype interviews, assessing admission files, and serving as a Designated School Official who will manage the F-1 visa process for those international students requiring a student visa.
Through collaboration with both the Operations Manager and the Systems Specialist, process submitted applicant files and documents, checking for accuracy, ensuring that submissions meet requirements, and following up with families and schools when submitted materials don’t meet standard or are missing.
Assist with online enrollment setup within Veracross.
Attend all weekly Admissions & Financial Aid staff meetings.
Contribute to the planning of and attend all admissions events including Open House, information sessions, yield days, and off-campus outreach events. Attendance at all admissions events is required.
Manage the admissions email inbox all while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Bachelor’s degree and experience working in or participating with the student admissions process at an independent school or college setting required. Demonstrated experience with leading and managing committees, performing detail-driven tasks, complex projects, and successfully prioritizing multiple deadlines. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solve. Intermediate level knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, general databases and other technologies. Demonstrated ability to act in a friendly and professional manner, even in stressful situations. Able to develop effective, flexible, and harmonious working relationships with colleagues and able to connect with 5th – 12th grade students. Able to be flexible with work schedule.
