The Williston Northampton School, an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton, Massachusetts, is a culturally diverse educational community serving students in grades 7-12. We are seeking to fill the position of Director of Academic Support working within the Academic Dean’s office. This is an administrative position responsible for overseeing the Center for Academic Support which includes coordinating and facilitating academic support functions for students who have documented learning differences as well as those who may be in a transitional diagnostic phase. Duties of the position will include, but are not limited to: review and interpret applicable documentation and develop appropriate recommendations; communicate summary diagnoses and recommendations to all adults working with a particular student; maintain student folders and make regular reports to parents, faculty, and school administrators; collaborate with the Testing Coordinator to facilitate standardized testing accommodations; collaborate with faculty on instruction strategies for particular students; facilitate extended time and other academic accommodations; direct the student tutoring program. This position will also include student advising, residential responsibilities, and the occasional driving of a school mini-bus.
