The High Mountain Institute (HMI) seeks a .75-time Admissions Associate for a two-year position that may be extended with adequate program enrollment. The position assists the Co-Directors of HMI Gap with current marketing and admissions efforts, helps develop new marketing opportunities, and supports direct program operations. This position can be combined with employment in the HMI Summer Term or other adjunct HMI programming to create a full-time role.
Coordinate outreach and recruitment for HMI Gap, including
Managing strategic contact lists
Promotional campaigns (social media, web, email, and mail)
Creating print and digital marketing and communications content
Development of strategies for lead generation and avenues to increase student diversity
SEO and analytics for the HMI website
Increase visibility of HMI brand and promote the “gap” concept
Represent HMI Gap for up to 10 weeks of promotional travel, including coordinating logistics
Serve as primary point of contact for Gap admissions inquiries and processing applications
Assist in admissions and financial aid decisions
Assist in communicating with enrolled students and families and processing paperwork
Serve as Gap field instructor up to 2 weeks per year, depending on interest and experience
Assist with Gap program preparations, logistics, and student supervision
Maintain Wilderness First Aid or higher and CPR certifications

Minimum Qualifications: BA in a relevant area of study with experience in the marketing/sales field; candidates must enjoy travel, be able to build excellent rapport with a variety of individuals and speak compellingly about the HMI brand, demonstrate strong organizational and writing skills, ability to work independently and take initiative with administrative and creative projects, and have a clear passion for adolescents and intellectual and wilderness pursuits; current (or willingness to acquire) Wilderness First Aid/First Responder and CPR certifications. Criminal and driving background checks required. Highly competitive candidates will show previous experience with one or more of the following: communications, digital marketing, graphic design, website management, and SEO and website analytics.
