Lower School Division Head
We are looking for a dynamic, talented individual who will lead our lower school of roughly 180 children in pre-kindergarten to grade 5 and contribute to a strong administrative team. In addition to curriculum oversight and parent education, the position includes supporting classroom and specialist teachers, and working with the learning support team along the breadth of a robust program.
? Inspire, promote and support excellent teaching
? Lead by example in all things: understanding of early childhood and early elementary development, the articulation and implementation of best practices, and the implementation of an innovative and dynamic curriculum
? Communicate clearly, efficiently, and with transparency with all constituencies in a proactive and timely manner
? Participate in the recruitment, hiring and ongoing evaluation of teachers
? Maintain and communicate the progress and needs of students and planning for their continued growth as necessary
? Support diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels—parents, students, and faculty
? Create, support, and advocate for cohesive and collaborative teaching teams including specialists and classroom teachers
? Support the mission of the school through team building, writing, meetings, and conversations
? Ensure that assessment reports are accurate, timely, and substantive
? Help students uphold the behavioral standards of our mission and core values
? Make scheduling decisions and teaching assignments in conjunction with the head of school
