DEAN OF FACULTY - PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborative Leadership as member of Deans Council (with Dean of Student Learning & Support and Dean of Students) and Academic Council (with department chairs)
Faculty Development and Supervision
Assist with the orientation of new faculty and ongoing faculty formation and supervision
Assist with the design and implementation of faculty professional development to improve teaching and the learning as a consequence of our teaching
To model the teaching and learning we expect of CRNYHS faculty, the Dean of Faculty will share the great responsibility of faculty colleagues: she or he will teach one section
Curriculum and Assessments: Assist with the review and continuous improvement of our academic program
Co-direct PUENTE (our academic summer bridge program) with Principal and CWSP Director and staff
Scheduling: add room assignments to the master teaching schedule; determine daily substitution assignments for faculty; prepare special schedules including exam and proctoring schedules
Coordinate the ordering of textbooks and keep records of books assigned to students
Assist in planning school events of an academic nature, including honors assemblies and parent meetings
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Principal

1. Collaborative approach to teaching and leadership (with evidence to show)
2. Minimum of five years full-time high school teaching experience, during which the candidate has:
Demonstrated teaching excellence with a high need, low socio-economic status student population
Demonstrated leadership outside the classroom, including but not limited to the orientation and training of new teachers
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with curriculum development
4. Master’s Degree in Educational Administration
5. Prior service in a Cristo Rey school, or a teacher service program such as Alliance for Catholic Education or Teach for America, is preferable but not required
