The Agnes Irwin School, an independent Pre-K-12, all girls' day school located in the Philadelphia suburbs, is seeking a full-time, 11-month (August 1 through June 30) Assistant or Associate Director of College Counseling, depending on prior experience, effective the 2018-19 school year. This professional will be involved in all facets of the AIS College Counseling program, primarily in close work with juniors and seniors, along with their parents, in the college search and application processes (including athletic and artistic recruiting angles), along with liaising with School staff and college officials The yearly senior advising load is approximately 35 students, depending on size of class. Specific duties will include coordinating standardized testing and other projects as assigned. A small percentage of teaching or coaching duties may also be included, if interest and expertise pertain.

Master’s and/or counseling degree preferred
Prior experience on either college or independent secondary school side required, experience with both preferred
Demonstrated counseling skills in the context of an empathetic understanding of family dynamics
Proven knowledge base of U.S. colleges/universities, and the ability to reasonably predict college admissions decisions required, knowledge of overseas (UK) programs a plus
Strong communication/marketing, interpersonal, organizational,, and decision making skills
