Fort Worth Country Day is seeking a seasonal Girls’ Volleyball Program Director/Head Coach for the Fall 2018 volleyball season. The Girls’ Volleyball Program Director/Head Coach is responsible for supervising all aspects of the instruction and development of the volleyball program for grades 7-12.
Physical Requirements, Working Conditions and Environment
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to participate in physically demanding athletic activities that may require lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling
Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity
Exposure to moderate indoor temperatures; outdoor temperatures of hot and cold
Ability to travel off-campus for athletic competitions
Long or odd hours, as needed
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate has at least three years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting and has a degree in physical education; experience working in a K-12 private school preferred
Experience developing programs/players and leading/coordinating a team of coaches; coaching experience with a high school/competitive team and/or college playing experience
Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport
Program Directors will set 3-5 professional goals and/or objectives to be reviewed with the Athletic Director. Personal professional development, program development, mentoring of coaching staff and improvement of instruction or communication are potential goal setting topics
Full responsibility for the supervision of the sport including coordinating all aspects of the sport, including practice plans and game management
Perform other job-related duties as assignedSupervise and evaluate all coaches working in the program
Adherence to Southwest Preparatory Conference guidelines and rules
Provide the Athletic Director with a written set of guidelines for their team along with roster, practice calendar and other requested information
Responsible for following all FWCD athletic department and school policies
Responsible for keeping appropriate records as directed by the Athletic Director
Works with the athletic training staff for the benefit of the student/athlete
Promotes his/her program in the outside community
Develop and assist with special events (tournaments, camps, clinics, etc.)
Communicate with parents and players
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience
