The Episcopal Academy seeks a Middle School History and English teacher who brings a passion for teaching, learning, and connecting with students in the middle grades. Responsibilities include teaching 2 sections of each History and English as part of the grade level instruction team in each subject, advising and additional duties as assigned.
The primary goal of our Middle School History program is to develop the skills necessary to be a successful lifelong learner in a diverse world that requires an understanding of the past in order to resolve future conflicts. The curriculum starts with the discovery of the Americas, the development of our nation's various levels of government, and ends with an exposure to broader world issues. During their time in Middle School History, students develop effective age appropriate research, note taking, writing, and study skills.
The primary goal of our Middle School English program is to develop the skills necessary to read literature meaningfully and write about it critically and personally. The curriculum includes literature, grammar, vocabulary, and composition. During their time in Middle School English, students develop effective reading, writing, and study skills.
