Candidates for this position must hold a valid teaching credential.
Strong candidates have successfully demonstrated:
Three+ years teaching in the intermediate grades, preferably Third and/or Fourth Grade
Teaching multiple levels of mathematics
An interest in teaching social and global studies
Understanding of the social-emotional needs of gifted students
Differentiating instruction, preferably in an independent school setting
Desirable candidates will also have experience with:
Utilizing technology, including iPads as a tool for knowledge construction
Familiarity with 21st Century Learning design
Experience working with a culturally diverse community

Lower School classrooms have 18-20 students, a Lead Teacher, and an Associate Teacher. There are two classes per grade level: kindergarten through fourth grade. Lead Teachers work collaboratively and with the assistance of the Associate Teachers. Classrooms accommodate a wide range of skills through differentiated instruction. Students typically work one to three levels beyond grade level. Our goal is to challenge children at the academic level they need while nurturing their growth socially and emotionally in a supportive, developmentally appropriate environment.
Our teachers enjoy a competitive salary based on the Bellevue Public School District. This position is eligible for full-time benefits, including school provided medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. The school is not easily accessible by public transportation.
