Belmont Day School is a pre-kindergarten to eighth grade independent school founded in 1927 by a group of parents committed to providing children with an excellent foundation and many opportunities for creative expression. ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING
The associate director of communications and marketing works with the director of communications and marketing to cultivate and engage community, build brand awareness, and strengthen the school’s reputation. The communications team serves as the school’s primary storyteller by creating multimedia content that brings to life Belmont Day’s mission, values, and the distinctive features of the academic program for internal and external audiences. The team works with various school departments including admissions, development, athletics, and community programs (summer camp and enrichment programs) and creates content that engages, informs, and inspires our constituents.
Create engaging content—stories, photos, video, and multimedia—consistent with the school’s graphic identity standards and brand platform including:
weekly community e-newsletter
promotion for admissions, camp, and special events
environmental and special event photography
regular updates to the school’s social media channels
update content on school’s digital display
Website updates including:
Collaborate with the director of communications and marketing and marketing consultant to execute Belmont Day’s marketing playbook:
update and place print and online ads
strategically leverage social media to promote the school
monitor reach and engagement of advertising and marketing
manage school review sites
Design print materials
external and internal signage
posters and flyers for events
Supports promotional, recruitment, and reputation-building efforts for the school as directed.
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, or a related field
At least five years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or design
Demonstrated proficiency with graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Keen eye for exceptional visual communications
Excellent writing and copy editing skills
High level of creativity, close attention to detail, grace under pressure, and strong project management skills
Photography proficiency including basic editing
Energy and creativity in order to produce content that will engage multiple audiences
Experience capturing and editing promotional video
Google Analytics, Final Cut Pro
