St. Martin's Episcopal School is seeking a Director of Libraries/Middle & Upper School Librarian to begin in the 2018/2109 academic year. A Master's degree in Library and Information Sciences is required as well as a Louisiana Education Certificate with at least five years’ experience in the field two of which have been in a school setting with Middle and High School students. The candidate must be energetic and tech-savvy with drive to integrate technology and library programming. S/he must also have strong interpersonal, collaborative, administrative and leadership skills. The librarian should have the expertise to promote literacy and reading-incentive programs. In addition, the candidate maintains the library’s print and digital collections. This includes acquiring new resources, teaching digital research using the library catalog, databases, web-based resources and online citation support. The Director routinely collaborates with the Lower School Librarian to ensure continuity of literacy and research skills across the entire campus. Extra-curricular involvement will be expected.
