Collaborate with the grade level team to develop curriculum and lessons for all subject areas
Plan and teach SEL (social emotional learning) group
Independently lead a daily reading group
Pull out groups of boys in math to enrich and support math skills as needed
Regularly evaluate lessons and units with head teacher to revise instructional strategies in order to meet each student’s needs
Lead Morning Meetings
Create learning goals, expectations, and standards for student work
Provide students with an emotionally safe environment
Demonstrate a variety of strategies for maintaining student attention and motivation
Establish and support effective classroom management routines.
Maintain positive personal relationships with all students and their families
Engage in focused, detailed evaluation/observation of student work and behaviors
Utilize various means of student assessment
Assess student work and record daily observations to use to write clear and thorough reports
Communication with Parents
Communicate regularly with parents as needed
Help maintain class website in Canvas
Assist Head Teacher in writing reports and preparing for Parent Teacher conferences
Establish a positive, working relationship with Head Teacher
Attend meetings, including: Regular meetings with administrators b. Weekly team meetings with the grade level to prepare lesson plans and discuss student progress. c. Weekly faculty meetings
Continue to acquire new knowledge and implement best practices
Share ideas and skills with colleagues while being open to their different ideas and/ or points of view
Establish and maintain cooperative, positive relationships with colleagues- team focused position
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School and Assistant Head of Lower School
Working towards M.A. or M.S. in Education
Strong organizational skills (planning, record keeping, emails)
