Responsibilities The Head-Royce Lower School is seeking a dynamic, creative educator to join our fourth grade team. Homeroom Teachers, for a contained classroom of approximately 20 students, deliver content and skills in language arts, social studies, science and math. In addition, teachers use the Responsive Classroom approach, Toolbox and our school’s mission to support social-emotional and character growth. Our faculty create classrooms that encourage students to participate in experiential learning, take risks, view the world through multiple lenses, utilize innovative tools, and demonstrate proficiencies through a range of assessments that include real world problems and performances. Beyond the classroom, teachers are expected to take on Lower-School-wide duties and participate in the life of the community.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Minimum 5 years experience teaching at the upper elementary level Strong academic background, experience in multicultural education and an awareness of ecological literacy Genuine fondness for working with students of this age
Additional Qualifications we hope to find, but not required: Advanced degrees in the field of education
