Well established independent school seeks a full time certified Montessori Teacher for students ages 3 – 6 starting mid-August 2018. Located across the lake from Seattle in Bellevue, Washington, Eton School serves students from Pre-elementary (age 3) through Middle School (grade 8) and holds dual accreditation from AMS and NWAIS.
The Pre-elementary school teacher will be responsible for:
Planning and implementing curricula; assess and adapt to individual learning styles and development stages; communicate proactively with students, parents, and staff; and incorporate materials and practices that support diversity.
Create and facilitate a culture of respect and rapport including managing student behavior with clear standards and positive disciplinary action.
Ensure student safety at all times by overseeing interpersonal dynamics of students; preparing students for Fire Drills, Earthquake Drills, and Emergency Procedures; as well as organizing and maintaining a safe and clean physical space with aesthetic visual appeal.
Mentoring and providing professional development opportunities to teaching assistants.
Continuous professional development including maintaining required STARS hours and trainings in addition to your professional certifications.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or other closely related major
Montessori certification for Pre-elementary
WA STARS Training
Intermediate computer skills utilizing MS Office programs, Internet, etc.
