Stuart Hall School, a college-preparatory, Episcopal school founded in 1844 and located in Staunton, Va., is seeking a full-time Upper School Spanish Teacher, starting in the 2018-19 school year. Stuart Hall offers a coeducational day program for students in grades PreK-12 and a national and international co-ed boarding program for students in grades 8-12. With approximately 300 students PreK-12, the School has two campuses and enrolls approximately 80 boarding students.
Job Summary: This position will include teaching upper school students in Spanish levels I-IV.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching 5 sections of high school Spanish courses
Faculty advisor to approximately 10-15 students
Club, coaching, or other teacher duties as assigned
Active participation in school initiatives towards the development of the STU Graduate
Active participant in the Residence Life program at Stuart Hall School which could include possible weekend time
Consistent development of personal professional growth
Collaboration within the World Language department as well as with all faculty
Proactively provide parent and student communication
Support of the school’s mission and culture
Adherence to the guidelines in the employee manual
Bachelor's Degree in Spanish or a related field
At least 3 years teaching experience or equivalent, preferably at an independent or private school
