The Swain School, a Preschool through grade 8 independent school located in the Lehigh Valley region of southeastern Pennsylvania, seeks a teacher for a potential opening in Lower School (grades 1, 2, 3). The school seeks candidates who are innovative, technology savvy, have a firm grasp on teaching pedagogy, and embrace the unique developmental stages of early adolescence.

Swain teachers meet regularly and work collaboratively within disciplines and across divisions and are actively involved in the life of the school outside their classrooms.
Teach and manage all aspects of the day-to-day classroom operations
Possess a passion for teaching and children
Design and implement innovative instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners’ academic, social and emotional growth
Conduct assessments and prepare the reporting of student progress and performance
Attend divisional, full-faculty, and parent meetings as needed
Maintain a well-managed, mutually respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
Engage in continued professional development
Passion for teaching and children
Experience teaching early adolescent aged students
Training in research-based best practices and current teaching methods
Experience applying Responsive Classroom, Singapore Math, and Wilson Fundations methods a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education; Master’s Degree preferred
