The Swain School, a Preschool through 8 independent school located in the Lehigh Valley region of southeastern Pennsylvania, seeks a Middle School School Spanish Teacher for grades 7 and 8. The school seeks candidates who are innovative, technology savvy, have a firm grasp on teaching pedagogy, and embrace the unique developmental stages of Intermediate School students.

Teach Middle School Spanish classes using an immersion approach
Possess a passion for teaching and children
Demonstrate proficiency in Spanish
Design innovative instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners’ academic, social and emotional growth
Assess students’ progress and performance, including writing end-of-term reports
Attend divisional and full-faculty meetings, and parent meetings as needed
Develop and coordinate curriculum with other Spanish teachers
Find and develop interdisciplinary opportunities with homeroom teachers
Conduct a well-managed, mutually respectful classroom environment
Engage in continued professional development
Experience teaching Intermediate, Middle School or High School - aged students
Training in research-based best practices and current teaching methods
Experience with Responsive Classroom methods a plus
Bachelor's or Graduate level degree in Spanish or Education
