We are currently seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced Second Grade Teacher to join our collaborative faculty. Responsibilities include instruction in all major curricular areas: reading, word study, writing, handwriting, mathematics, social studies and science. M.A. in Education
Significant classroom teaching experience; 5 year preferred
Excellent verbal communication skills, superior organizational skills
Outstanding written skills for communication and for documentation, including writing narrative report cards
Knowledge about and experience with the developmental, social, emotional and cognitive issues of the primary early grades
Experience with reading and mathematical instructional strategies
Experience in and a commitment to developing one’s own cultural competency and seeking, continually, greater levels of diversity, equity and inclusion in practices and in curricula
Ability to work successfully with colleagues on a team
Flexibility, tact and grace in talking with parents
Ability to integrate subject matter
Familiarity with the tenets of progressive education
