Rodeph Sholom School seeks applicants for a Middle School English Teacher position for the 2018-2019 school year.
Rodeph Sholom School is an independent Reform Jewish Day School serving students in Nursery through 8th Grade. The position requires a passion for teaching and learning, flexibility, commitment to ongoing professional growth, and a sense of humor. We seek an individual who is both collaborative and collegial. Applicant should have an affinity and appreciation for working with middle school students, as well as an understanding of the unique social and emotional needs of this age group.This position requires command of the subject matter and knowledge of engaging and rigorous practices in the teaching of middle school English.
A full-time teaching load of several sections of English
Serving as an advisor to 6-8 middle school students
Attending grade-level, department, and all-school faculty meetings
Advising a student club during school hours
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in English in addition to exemplary experience teaching a variety of literature and writing skills in the middle school grades. Masters degree in a related field is preferred.
