The Masters School seeks an experienced and dynamic school leader who will collaborate closely with the Middle School Head to lead and nurture a positive and healthy sense of community for the faculty, parents and students. The Associate Head of Middle School is an integral member of the Middle School leadership team along with the Grade-Level Deans. The Associate Head will work closely with the Head of the Middle School to lead, organize and supervise the academic program, work with teachers and students to support a wide range of co-curricular/extracurricular activities and help with the smooth daily operation of the division. This twelve-month administrative position reports to the Middle School Head.

Academic Policy and Curriculum and Program Development
In partnership with the Middle School Head, act as the educational leader of the Middle School, responsible for its day-to-day operation
Review and evaluate academic programs, including for horizontal and vertical curricular flow grades 5-12
Sit on Learning Support team
Assist with scheduling
Faculty Development and Evaluation
Observe, supervise, and help evaluate the faculty
Serve as a consultant to teachers in matters of classroom management, teaching methods, and general school procedures
Participate in hiring and training of new faculty and staff
Support teachers in using the learning management system
Support Deans in creating a healthy student community and in overseeing discipline, helping ensure consistency across grades
Oversee the development of advisory curriculum
Collaborate with the Director of Equity and Inclusion to develop and maintain inclusive curriculum and to support students and families
Help maintain a comprehensive calendar of school events and keep the entire school community informed of various school programs and activities
Maintain the Middle School content portions of the website
Be an integral part of various committees and groups that link with the other divisions. Represent the Middle School in Department Heads Meetings, Academic Committee, Strategic Planning initiatives, Instructional Rounds, and any other committees that call for Middle School administration to be a part of
Sit on the Admissions Committee
Teach one class and advise a group of students
At least five years of experience in teaching and leadership roles, preferably in Middle Schools, Masters degree preferred
Extensive work in and deep understanding of schools
Genuineness, outstanding emotional intelligence, warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit
Ability to think strategically, critically, and creatively
Demonstrated ethical decision-making and leadership skills
Excellent conflict resolution skills and willingness to hold difficult conversations
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
