The Masters School seeks a passionate and energetic teacher of Mandarin for a part time Middle School position.
The teacher will have advisees, play an active role in the life of the Upper School and be a full member of a strong department that bridges two divisions. Masters is eager to consider application from traditionally underrepresented groups.
Teach MS Mandarin
Successfully engage and develop student’s interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter
Attend full faculty meetings and grade-level meetings
Encouraged to participate in the life of the Middle School by attending occasional student presentations and performances and culminating events
May be asked to serve as an advisor to 8-10 students
At least three years of teaching experience, preferred
Understanding of and desire to work with middle school students
Familiar with and/and willing to explore student-centered pedagogical approaches
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Energy, enthusiasm and curiosity – willingness to be a fellow learner with students
Proficient in the use of technology
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competency
