Glenelg Country School seeks a full-time Upper School Academic Support faculty member for the 2018/2019 academic year who will work closely with students, teachers and parents. The position will provide structured, targeted, and interventional support to ensure the success of all students in the Upper School. The AS faculty member reports directly to the Director of Academic Counseling.
Some duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: providing small-group instruction and/or support across the curricular areas, documenting students’ progress and needs through notes and formal reports and meeting consistently with the Director of Academic Counseling to review student progress and concerns.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who communicates well with others and is comfortable providing assistance and reinforcing material across the disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in education, special education background preferred
At least 1-2 years of experience as a learning specialist or in a related role
A strong knowledge of organization and study skills, and executive function strategies
Experience in working with students aged 14–18 years old
