LREI seeks a Middle School Music Teacher. The music teacher is responsible for their students and curriculum as well as collaborating with other music teachers. The music teacher teaches fifth and sixth grade classes as well as seventh and eighth grade "instrumental music majors" and band. In our current program, fifth and sixth graders focus on composition using various digital tools. The music teacher collaborates with other music teachers to produce two concerts and several assemblies each year. The music teacher also collaborates with the drama teacher in producing the middle school musical.

We seek a talented, creative music teacher who can inspire students through exploration, discovery, and integration with other subjects. Candidate’s pedagogy should be student-centered. Proficient piano and/or guitar skills is necessary. The ability to work collaboratively and excellent communication skills are essential. A Master’s degree in music and/or music education and successful experience as a music classroom teacher are preferred. Successful LREI teachers are reflective practitioners and lifelong learners.
