St. Anne's Episcopal School in beautiful Denver, Colorado seeks a talented, knowledgeable, collaborative, and enthusiastic Lower School Learning Specialist beginning in August 2018. Our Lower School Learning Specialists work as a team with lower school students with special needs in math and reading. Responsibilities include: interpreting and summarizing psycho-educational evaluations and collaborating with parents, teachers and the Lower School Head to implement appropriate accommodations for individual students, providing in class and pullout instruction to meet student needs, monitoring student progress, providing one on one tutoring when students need more intensive intervention, advocating for special needs students and providing staff development for faculty in identified areas of need.
This learning specialist is also supports Lower School Testing including: conducting DIBELs screening, organizing Speech/Language/Hearing Screenings/Phonological Testing, conducting admissions testing, planning, and organizing and providing on-going support to parents and teachers of students in grades 3-5 regarding ERB/CTP4 Standardized Testing.
A four-year undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, or a similar field is required.Preferred Training: Orton-Gillingham based training, Wilson, FAST, REWARDS, or similar programs.
Prior experience as a reading specialist, elementary school teacher, and/or working in independent schools preferred.
