The Summer Programs at Pine Cobble School, Williamstown, Massachusetts is hiring! We’re looking for enthusiastic and responsible counselors for our 2018 summer season. As a counselor, you’ll participate in and lead camp activities, assist the camp director with a variety of daily tasks, greet families, build relationships, and create a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers.
This job is for you if:
You’ve got the personality. You’re level-headed, reliable, responsible, and flexible. You show grace under pressure, you know how to connect with both children and their parents, and you have a terrific sense of humor.
You’ve got the skills. You know how to balance structure and spontaneity, laughter and learning, inspiration and instruction. You’re both professional and nurturing, compassionate and committed...and you’re an absolutely stellar role model for young people.
You’ve got the values. You believe in inclusion, respect, joy, and a hard day’s work. You love that no two children are alike, and you’re committed to helping all children discover the best parts of themselves.
You know that camp matters. Maybe you had a phenomenal camp experience when you were young. Maybe you’re eager to create the experience you wish you had. Either way, you know that for kids, the right summer camp means lifelong memories and the chance to grow in all the best ways.
You’re not afraid to get messy. You’re happy to dig in the dirt, stomp in mud, get splattered with paint, wipe noses, get your face painted, build sand castles, and catch frogs and insects.
You know kids. Not only are you a proven leader among your peers, you also have experience working with younger children as a volunteer, coach, classroom assistant, and/or counselor in another camp program.
You believe in magic. You know that magic takes many different forms: friendship. A great story. The natural world. S’mores by the campfire. A special camp song. Discovering something new about the world...or about yourself. You see enchantment everywhere, and you’re excited to share it with campers.
Pine Cobble Day Camps offer twelve weeks of good old-fashioned summer fun for kids. An early childhood program nurtures children ages two years nine months through age six, with developmentally-appropriate activities. Our Adventure Camp program, for ages 7+ includes weekly hikes, fort-building, nature activities, frog catching, intellectual challenges, a mix of inclusive sports for athletes and non-athletes alike, and swimming at Sand Springs.
Sound like you? Please send a resume, cover letter, and three references to Christy St. John at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 7, 2018.
