The Harley School, an independent college-preparatory school in Rochester, NY, seeks an Upper School Learning Specialist to begin in the fall of 2018. We seek an educator who can support individual students, but who can also help our entire faculty get better in the area of differentiated instruction and working with students with learning differences.
The successful candidate should be Special Ed Certified through Grade 12; have a minimum of three years teaching experience; have strong organizational and communication skills; familiarity with writing and maintaining IEP’s and 504 plans; and a deep commitment to working with teenagers, especially those with learning challenges.
Our learning specialist works with small groups of students (1-6) throughout the day, communicates with classroom teachers about the special needs of students, maintains Harley learning plans and IEP’s, and is a leading advocate for working creatively with students who have distinctive intellectual character.
