Responsibilities: The Director of Residential Life is responsible for the daily operations of the Residential Life program at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. This is a full time position. The Director of Residential Life is expected to be a visible, active member of the residential community and the Forest Ridge community as a whole, managing a staff of residential faculty, guiding and supporting the development of life skills for the 22-26 adolescent girls who live on campus, ensuring a living environment in which these residential students are safe, healthy, happy and feeling supported in their academic and co-curricular pursuits.
Day to day duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation and leadership of the Residential Faculty.
Oversight of the Residential Life budget.
Creation and execution of Residential Life Programming in coordination with the Residential Faculty.
Developing a communications strategy for parents of all residential students, both individually and collectively.
Liaison between campus operations of food service, Sacred Heart Exchange, security, maintenance, athletics and all over areas that offer supportive services to the Residential Life program.
Develop and implement policies and procedures, keeping residential handbooks up to date, and maintaining accurate and up to date student records.
In coordination with the administration in the High School, adjudicate major residential discipline infractions as needed.
Collaborate with admissions personnel throughout the recruitment process, engaging in admissions activities as requested by the admissions team.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation or related field is required. Masters is preferred. Experience in a college, camp or boarding school setting is an expectation. Familiarity with girls schools or work in girls school is a significant plus. A flexible lifestyle that permits evening and weekend presence in the dormitory is essential. The ability to laugh at oneself and have a grand time with teenage girls on a variety of activities and occasions.
