TMI seeks a full-time History Teacher beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. A strong candidate will have 3-5 years of prior teaching experience, with the background to teach and contribute to the school community through coaching and/or club sponsorship.
Teaches five sections to include AP European History, Modern World Civilizations, and/or other history courses as needed.
Serves as an Advisor to a small group of students.
Contributes to the broader TMI community by participating in extracurricular activities, including the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club program.
Bachelor’s Degree in History or related field required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Three to five years teaching experience teaching at the upper school level.
Experience teaching AP or college level courses preferred.
Practices diverse teaching strategies and a variety of technology tools to differentiate student learning.
Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken).
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to engage in reflective practices routinely.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize workload.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
