Fayetteville Academy will have an opening for a potential opening for a Fourth Grade Lower School Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.
Position Expectations: The primary responsibility will be the instruction of a fourth grade classroom. The candidate must also be willing to contribute to our overall Lower School environment.
Personal Qualities: The candidate must have an understanding of the current best practices in the teaching of elementary education to include reading, writing, grammar, math, and critical analysis skills, as well as demonstrating proficiency in elementary curriculum, assessment, and integration of technology in the classroom. The candidate must possess a passion for teaching at the elementary school level; the ability to build positive relationships with students and their parents; have excellent oral and written communication skills; and the capacity to work as a collegial team member with integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, and confidence. This position requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Elementary Education. A master’s degree is preferred. The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience teaching students in the elementary grades. Independent school experience is beneficial.
