This is a full-time teaching position in one of our two third grade classrooms for the 2018-2019 school year. In your role as lead teacher you will be expected to work with your fellow colleagues to create an engaging and collaborative environment, embracing differentiation as well as age appropriate curriculum, for our gifted learners.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Demonstrated lead teaching experience in a team teaching environment
Understanding of and ability to differentiate curriculum
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary education
Gifted and Talented Endorsement or High Ability Licensure is highly preferred
Experience and knowledge of literature and language arts curriculum up to a sixth grade level, and a passion for teaching literature and writing
Experience with the NCSS standards for social studies and the integration of social studies and literature
Proven experience with academically gifted students
Ability to write and develop curriculum appropriate for gifted learners
Expertise in providing enriched and accelerated curriculum in all subject areas (including ability grouping and tiering assignments)
Ability to create a positive classroom environment for all students
Experience working in a team teaching environment
Capability to develop and maintain appropriate working relationships with parents
